Courtroom on stage - A North Shore Rotary Project

Photo and narrative by Monica Isley - Lake County News-Chronicle.
The courtroom became a stage in Two Harbors on Wednesday, as Judge Kenneth Sandvik was filmed giving his “citizen jury” speech which he presents to every jury that serves in his courtroom. This is a North Shore Rotary project, with Rotary members serving as jurors, and Rotary member Judy French (right) doing the filming. The resulting product will be given to the government classes at Two Harbors and Silver Bay.

Photos and Port Arthur's Newsletter from our November 13, 2007, visit to the Port Arthur Rotary Club. Our club presented them with the beautiful storage cabinet in this photo:

Why Join Your Local Rotary Club?
1. Professional Networking: A founding principle of Rotary was to provide a forum for professional and business leaders. Members are leaders in business, industry, the professions, the arts, government, sports, the military, and religion. They make decisions and influence policy. Rotary is the oldest, most prestigious service-club organization in the world.
2. The Opportunity to Serve: Rotarians provide service at both the community and international levels. Service programs address healthcare needs, hunger and poverty, illiteracy, disaster relief, and environmental cleanups, to name a few. Members experience the fulfillment that comes from giving back to the community.
